Dear Laura and Keith, my wife (Linda May) and I had the privilege to know Mr. Donor while we were student at Prairie Bible Institute. We had the honor to receive a visit from him regularly for about 3 years when he was bringing produces from the stores he was gleaning from. I still picture his beaming smile and his sparkling blue eyes. Everytime he came to visit us, we were blessed with his communicable joy and peace. We knew where this abundance of life was coming from, it was from Jesus. He was always giving God glory but not like it was a habit or out of false humility but out of gratitude. His generosity came from the fact that he found enormous riches in Him who "gave His life for a sinner like me", he would tell me.
We gave him our little gray station wagon when we left Prairie in 1996. He was telling me over the phone how he was putting his "new" car to good use. The stories that often repeat to others when I want to use illustration for trusting God and being in tune with the Holy Spirit are when hosted a young man who stole his truck that ended up in the Yukon. He gave the truck to a missionary there who had been praying for one. He told him that God had answered his prayer. The other story I remember is when he was mugged by teens and went to court. He could not identify them because they were all dressed up and shaved with a new hair cut. So I think that the case got dismissed or they were acquitted from lack of evidence. He was more concerned about their souls then their convictions.
I'm sorry for your loss. I think the whole world around Ross lost a great example of a living stone, how the grace of God can save a man from destruction and keep a man standing holding the bright light of hope that we so desperately need on these dark times. I will meet him again.

Mr Donor delivered food to our bodies (As Prairie students) and food to our soul (sharing the Grace and Love of Jesus).... a giant in our Heroes of the Faith, a privilege to know him, our sweetest memories during our studies in Three Hills! We now serve in Quebec and often wondered when we would receive a surprise telephone call from our dear “brother”

Dear Ross' Family,
My name is Fred Trinh and my family has greatly benefited from Ross' grace while we were in Drumheller. We hold Ross with the highest regards and honour within our family. We are so sad to hear of Ross' passing but we rejoiced as we know that he has gone home to be with Jesus. It is because of Ross that I got to know God and he laid the foundation's for me to come to Christ.
Please know that I often think of Ross because he played such an important role in our lives when we first came to Canada. Ross is the gold standard example for us because he show us so much love and kindness that is only possible because of his relationship with Christ.
Please accept our sincere condolences at this time. We love Ross and we thank God for allowing Ross to cross paths with us.
May God be with you all at this time,
Fred Trinh

He was such a kind man. When I worked at the court house he gave me scriptures...and I kept them in the desk I used. Blessings to the family ❤️

Laura, Larry and Keith. Although I am not a member of the Doner clan, your dad will always be "Uncle Ross" to me and my siblings. He was my first babysitter, gave me my first jobs (pulling weeds and shoveling snow) and served as an early example of someone who passionately loved God and humbly served people. May God bless you as you grieve his loss. Jason Koleba

Dear Laura and family,
It is bittersweet to learn of your dad's passing. He had such a long and fruitful life and loved his Lord Jesus so much. We are so grateful for the many blessings he bestowed upon us when we were married students at Prairie in the '90's. His grocery runs were a great help to many a struggling student family. One Christmas he brought over a case of chocolate bars, they'd been frozen so were whitish but still a great treat for many of us.
I always remember his amazing testimony of coming out of the pit into the family of God and what a transformation he made. He holds a place of great honour and respect in my heart. Now he is back with his sisters in the presence of their Lord. What a homecoming he would have! May you have rest and peace in your heart now too.
with love, Marion

I have fond memories of Ross Doner. He was a faithful servant and a great encouragement to me as his pastor. We always had the cleanest church sidewalks winter and summer thanks to Ross. He did it all with such cheerfulness and joy. He radiated the love of Jesus. My condolences to Laura and Keith. Don & Bev Neufeld
