Obituary of Carol Marian Wiens

Carol Marian Wiens, born January 25, 1944, passed away surrounded by family on May 13, 2018 at the age of 74 years. Carol is survived by her 5 children: Angela (Adam), Jae, Sharon, Robynne (Andrew) and Eric (Amy); 6 grandchildren: Kyran, Brenna, Drew, Laura, Sarah, and Grace; her siblings: Don (Barb) Anderson, Allan Anderson, and sister in law Ellen Anderson. Carol was predeceased by her husband Robert; her parents Marian Anderson and Edwin Anderson; her siblings Marlene Anderson and Gerald Anderson; son in law Kenneth McGillion; and granddaughter Allison Wiens. Carol gathered many people close to her heart: nieces, nephews, cousins, and those she met along the way. Carol was a foster parent for 20 years. Diane and Beatrice Houle are still considered family. Carol saw the beauty in everyone she met. Donations in Carol’s memory can be made directly in her name, to the Hanna Food Bank, Box 1613, or the Hanna Ladies Auxiliary, Box 23, Hanna, AB, T0J 1P0. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Hanna Community Centre on Tuesday May 22, 2018, 1 P.M., with interment at St. George’s Catholic Cemetery, Hanna, Alberta.
