Obituary of Cheryl Anne Holm
Cheryl Holm (nee Racher) passed away on Sunday, November 14th, 2021, at the age of 69 in Hanna, Alberta surrounded by her family.
Cheryl was born July 20th, 1952, in Vulcan, Alberta to William and LaQuita Racher. She grew up on the family farm with her sister Amanda and her brother Arlin. Cheryl attended school in Champion, Alberta until grade 10 when she then went to high school in Vulcan.
On June 27th, 1970, she married Michael Holm and together they raised 3 children: James, Perry, and Bradley. They moved around for a few years with Mike’s work, living in Champion, Shouldice, and Empress before settling in Hanna in July of 1979. They have called Hanna home ever since. Cheryl and Mike enjoyed curling, golf, camping and happy hours with friends and her Bud Light.
Cheryl will be lovingly remembered by her husband: Michael; her children: James (Shannon), Perry,4 grandchildren: Darby Holm, Nicholas Holm, Megan Holm and Austin Holm; and her sister: Amanda McCord; sisters-in-law Lynda Smith (Byron), and Valerie Holm, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Cheryl was predeceased by her brother Arlin Racher, her son Bradley, brother-in-law Bob,parents Bill and LaQuita Racher and Mike’s parents Theodore and Doreen Holm.
Cheryl loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Cheryl also spent many hours crocheting and keeping everyone supplied with dishcloths.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all friends and relatives for their support. Your words and thoughts have been a comfort to us all through the last days at mom’s side. A gathering to remember Cheryl will be held at a later date.
