Our condolences to the Luke family. He will be misssed. Everyone who has ever heard of Delia, knew about Luke's! Good food and good people. Our family spent a lot of time at Luke's and we will miss seeing his smiling face and incredible memory. He even sponsored us to go to High School Curling provincials many years back in the 80's. There were eight of us!

We can't even begin to describe what a loss this is for Delia and the community but also for our family. Our mom worked at the Delia General Store for over 20 years. My Dad was part of the local coffee crew in Luke's every single morning and for us girls we each held after school jobs at the Delia General Store. My mom said Luke was a really good boss and always felt appreciated and valued. We all enjoyed Luke's food especially the burgers which were the best around and their yummy pork cutlets! Luke's is the heart of Delia where we all came together to share a coffee, a gossip session, a family meal or grabbing lunch on the run. Too many memories to share but it always felt like home! Sending our deepest condolences to Mai and family. Luke will be missed.

Luke was a pillar in the community, one of those people a small town could always rely on. He always greeted you with a smile and a chuckle, most often knowing your order even before you did. He was a good friend to the adults in the community, and like a father to the kids. Whether it was the early morning Coffee Crew or the after school kids, he was there...Mr. Reliable. Delia wouldn't have been the same without him, and his loss will be felt by many. To the family and friends of Luke, the McLeod family extends our deepest sympathies and condolences. My Sincere Condolences to Mai, Shing, Chong, Joy and Car. A highlight of every visit to Delia, since I left in 1965, was a visit to Luke's and a visit with Luke, Mai & Car as well as the many locals who frequented Lukes on a daily basis. My Dad, Howard Sloan, passed away in Luke's on the morning of September 7th, 1996, and I never entered the Cafe without thinking about my Dad. For many years Luke & I would share ideas and tips on Stocks and what was happening in the market. The entire community will feel the absence of this Unique and Generous Member of the Delia Community. Rest in Peace Luke.

Dad, mom and I went to the coffee shop often when I was a kid; then when dad became a grandpa, he and Brendan often stopped. Brendan too has many fond memories of going to “Luke’s”

Our condolences to Mai and her family and to Kar on the loss of a very special man..I grew up knowing Charlie,his dad and Luke and the restaurant was always a big part of our lives. When my wife and I go back he always remembered who we were and he always asked about my dad and mom. I have been away from Delia a long time now but have always made it a point to visit and spend time having a good visit with Luke, Mai and Kar. He will be deeply missed by all in the community.

We were so sorry to hear that Luke had died. Visiting Delia just won’t be the same. Luke’s was always one of the first stops when we were back in town. Since moving to the Delia area in 1975, the Delia Coffee Shop has been a part of my life. Going to Lukes was always a special treat, and remains so to this day.
