Obituary of Edward (Ed) Samborski
We are sad to announce the passing of Edward Samborski on Thursday September 21, 2023, at the age of 85.
Ed was born in Fosston, Saskatchewan to John and Polly Samborski. He attended school in Fosston till Grade 10. Ed moved to Ontario in 1956 and worked several jobs before returning west.
Ed moved to Hanna in the early 1980’s and purchased the bowling alley. He ran the bowling alley until the spring of 1993. Ed then started work for the Special Areas doing a variety of jobs for the next 25 years. He chose to retire due to bad knees.
During retirement Ed enjoyed activities such as camping, fishing, cooking and spending time with the grandkids and the great grandkids.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Polly Samborski; brothers: Walter, Mike and Lawrence; sister Marlene; sisters-in-law: Eileen and Adeline; and daughter Janice.
Ed is survived by wife Diane; daughter Adelle (Bryan) and grandson Brady; grandson Josh (Lorie) and great-grandchildren: Keegan and Wesley; son Gordon (Sharmon), grandchildren Jeff (Heather), Brandon (Michelle), and great-grandchildren Clayton and Brooklyn, son Keith (Leslie) and grandchildren: Tyler and Makayla. He is also survived by brother Gerald and family; sister Dianne and family and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will take place on Thursday, September 28, 2023, 12 p.m. (noon) at the Netherby Cemetery, with a luncheon and gathering at the Seniors Circle at 2 p.m.
