Obituary of Daniel (Dan) Thomas McBride
Dan was born on January 17th 1956 in Cobourg, Ontario and passed away November 30, 2023 in Hanna, Alberta. Dan was raised in Lindsay, Ontario where he went to school and spent his youth excelling at many sports including hardball and hockey. He learned his love of hunting spending countless hours hunting game and birds with his dad in Ontario. He moved out west to Alberta as a young man where he discovered his love of rodeo, competing as a steer wrestler throughout the Alberta rodeo circuit first settling in Calgary then to Hanna where he resided for the next 30 years. His continued love of hunting was very important, and he spent many hours hunting game with his numerous hunting buddies. Dan was a beloved father. His daughter will always cherish the memories of ice fishing, nature walks, drives on the back roads, and dancing around the living room to George Straight with her dad. Dan was devoted to his partner Tammy, whom he loved and adored for the last sixteen years. Dan enjoyed living the simple life with Tammy and his best friend Ace the black lab, who brought so much happiness into his life. Dan will remain known as someone who lived life on his own terms and was unapologetic about that. He will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Dan is predeceased by his Mother Cecile, Father William(Bill) and son Cody. He is survived by his Daughter Janessa, life partner Tammy Ness and her children Diana and Wyatt, Sister Barbara, Brother in law Doug, Niece Sarah, Nephew Mike and many cousins and extended family members.
There will be no service at this time.
