Obituary of Rolande (Rolly) Aitken (Fenning)

Rolande (Rolly) Fenning Aitken, née Duseigne. Born September 4th, 1936 in St. Boniface, Manitoba, passed June 3rd, Hanna Alberta.

We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of a most remarkable, beautiful woman.

There are many miles between the farm in Homebrook and the rolling hills of Hanna, with even more stories of love and life and loss and hardship that helped to mold Rolly into the most incredible woman. She was kind and compassionate and her generosity knew no bounds. If someone needed her or anything from her, Rolly was ALWAYS there. Her most inspiring trait was her strength to persevere when things got tough. There were none tougher than this kind lady.

Rolly lived for her family. She adored each and every one of them. She loved to travel and visit her children and all of the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rolly was a talented singer and could yodel incredibly well. She was always entertaining people at different functions and was well loved by all.

If Rolly loved you at all she would have a nickname for you. All of us had nicknames given to us by her and it was a true sign of affection.

Rolly was predeceased by her parents, Georgianne and Pierre Duseigne; brothers: Arnie, Albert, Roger and sister Renee.

She leaves to mourn her husband Roy, sons: Michael (Debbie), Ronald; daughter Melanie (Kelvin); brother Denis (Reta) plus all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and many many friends.

As per Rolly's request, no formal funeral will be held but a private interment at a later date.
