Obituary of Violet Joan Rossler (Marlowe)
Violet Joan Rossler (Joan) beloved wife of Bob Rossler passed away on July 2, 2024, at the age of 83, surrounded by her family at the Hanna Hospital. Joan was born August 26, 1940, the only child of Fred and Lousie Cook in the Hanna Hospital. Growing up, Joan’s family moved around the Hanna area to a couple different farms, eventually moving into Hanna where she went to school. In 1968 she married John Marlowe (Jack) and moved to the Marlowe Farm by Garden Plains. In 1973 their only son was born (David). In 1987 Jack suddenly passed away, Joan kept the farm going with the help of her nephew, Tim Carlson. In 1988 Joan was remarried to Robert John Rossler (Bob). Joan loved to go fishing, bowling, and enjoyed countless evenings playing cards with family and friends. In her younger years she loved curling and never missed a curling game on TV. In 2001 Joan’s greatest joy was realized when her first granddaughter was born, Tori followed by Courtney and Michaela, they were the light of her life. Joan loved to cook and took great pride in teaching her grandkids her recipes, especially her famous baked macaroni and cheese. Above all else, Joan is remembered for her loving heart and soft soul, to be loved by Joan was to know you were truly loved.
Joan was predeceased by her parents Fred and Louise and her first husband Jack.
She is survived by her husband Bob of 36 years, her son David Marlowe (Cassie) of Hanna and her grandchildren Tori, Courtney and Michaela Marlowe of Calgary.
A Come and Go Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, from 2:30p.m.- 4:30p.m., at the Senior’s Circle in Hanna.
