Obituary of Curtis William Julius Ayrey
With broken hearts we announce the passing of Curtis William Julius Ayrey on August 17, 2024, at the age of 39 years. Days short of his 40th birthday. Curtis was born on August 29, 1984, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to proud mom Norma Ayrey.
In 1985 they moved to Unity, Saskatchewan. Curtis spent lots of time at his grandparents’ farm and became the shadow of his grandpa and uncle Bill. In 1987 Curtis’s sister Jennifer was born and in that same year the family moved to Hanna and Vern Boser became a stepdad to Curtis. In 1989, Curtis became a big brother to Trevor. Curtis attended kindergarten to grade 12 in Hanna and was a very social kid!
Curtis played a lot of different sports. He played soccer, baseball, basketball, curling, and was also on the swim club. However, the sport he played and loved the most was football.
After graduating from high school he moved to Kelowna, BC. to play football with the Okanogan Sun Football Team.
In 2013 Curtis married Stacey Burgemeister of Hanna and they welcomed their first son Dalton that year. They moved south of Hanna to live on the farm and their son Ryland was born in 2015.
As the boys got older Curtis became more involved with the boys’ sports. Not only as their number one fan but also assisting with coaching. Curtis coached soccer and football.
In 2023 Curtis married Candace Gutsche of Hanna.
He was predeceased by his grandparents William and Evelyn Ayrey.
Curtis will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.
