Ella Beck’s Life

Ella grew up on the farm with her parents and siblings and went to school in Three Hills. Once she married Morris Beck, they moved to the Beck Homestead in Handhills, Alberta in 1954. On top of raising her children, Ella was always busy growing vegetable and flower gardens and raised chickens and goats. She also helped on the farm and in the fields wherever needed.

Ella was also a very active community member volunteering for various Handhills events as well as a member of the Handhills Ladies Aide throughout the years. Ella always kept busy as she loved cooking, baking, crocheting, walking and painting rocks. Following the death of her husband Morris Beck, Ella moved to Drumheller and then finally moved into Sunshine Lodge for the last four years. The grandchildren were always welcome at Grandma’s house wherever she lived.
