Obituary of Irene Emily Albright

Albright, Irene (nee Mundy) passed away peacefully with family by her side on May 13, 2018 in Drumheller, AB at the age of 79 years old. Mom was born to Thomas and Lizzy Mundy on July 29, 1938 in Bashaw, AB. Mom enjoyed visiting with family and strangers alike. Holding all the little babies gave her such great pleasure; no little kid went unnoticed with Mom around. Playing at the playgrounds with her grandkids or walking with them to the corner conveniece store for an ice cream would make her day. Mom had a strong faith in God and enjoyed Sundays worshipping. She would always say an extra prayer for anyone who was sick or struggling. Mom took pride in her garden, flowers, feeding a full table and life on the farm. Mom was always available with an ear, a hug, her famous brownies or chicken noodle soup. She left foot prints on the hearts of many and is sure to be missed by anyone that had the opportunity to know her. Mom will be deeply missed by her husband Jack of 57 years as well as her 3 girls: Phyllis (Wade), Janet (Owen), and Karen (Darren). Irene’s grandchildren always put a sparkle in her eyes and she was guaranteed to put a smile on their faces. Mom will be greatly missed by her grandchildren: Justin (Chole), Spencer (Morgan), Chelsea and Christina. Great Grandma to: Beau, Luke, Scarlett and Max. She leaves behind 3 sisters: Betty, Lillian, Grace and one brother, George. She also had several sister and brother in-laws, and numerous nieces and nephews. As per Mom’s wishes, there will be no memorial. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation.
